NTT Communications Corp, a subsidiary of Japanese telecommunications giant Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp, has teamed up with China Mobile Ltd<941><CHL>, the country's largest wireless operator, to provide its subscriber with WI-Fi roaming service in six mainland Chinese cities from Jan.1 2009, the South China Morning Post reported on Friday.
According to the report, NTT subscribers will be able to access the Wi-Fi hotspots managed by China Mobile in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Qingdao and Qinhuangdao, also known as "Olympic Cities".
International carriers are eager to access the China market, especially given the current lack of 3G data services.
