MTN looks to buy stake in UUNet

Africa’s largest mobile operator by subscribers, MTN, is seeking to acquire a 50% stake in corporate ISP UUNet to help consolidate its position in the region’s data services market. The deal is currently under consideration by the South African Competition Commission. Telkom South Africa purchased the data carrier last year.
