South Africa's MTN has upgraded its messaging platform for its PrePay customers, offering callers to its subscribers who are unavailable the option to either leave a voicemail message or send a text message. Previously prepaid subscribers had to choose between two options; regular voicemail or an SMS notification service (called VoiceMail Lite) which sent subscribers information about missed calls but had no ability to record a message.

This new capability from Movius enables us to continue to lead the market with innovative messaging solutions to meet the various, unique needs of our market.”

This new voicemail capability is one of a number of new services available with the latest software release of Versera ICE. This new release also supports a new auto-attendant functionality and expanded message notification functionality.
