The Jordan Times reports that Jordan Telecom Group’s (JTG’s) net profit for the nine months ended 30 September 2008 increased by 7.8% compared to the same period last year. According to the group's chief financial officer Raslan Diranieh, net profit reached JOD78.2 million (USD111.9 million) compared with JOD72.5 million during the first nine months of 2007. EBITDA increased by 3.9% to JOD135.9 million, while revenues rose by JOD1.1 million. Commenting on the results, Diranieh said: ‘The significant growth in the gross operating margin came as a result of better controlling costs and optimisation of our resources.’
