Chunghwa Telecom is aiming to encourage the continued strong take-up of its broadband internet products by slashing monthly tariffs. The cost of its 10Mbps fibre-optic internet connection will fall from TWD1,300 (USD39.90) a month to TWD990, while its wireless internet service will drop from TWD850 to TWD499, Dow Jones reports citing local newspaper Commercial Times. Chunghwa is hoping to sign up 2.5 million broadband subscribers by 2011, up from 900,000 now.
