The US satellite TV operator DISH Network has extended its joint marketing partnership with the country’s largest wireline and wireless carrier AT&T. The existing five-year deal between the two firms ends on 31 December this year but has now been extended by one month to end-January 2009. AT&T is also ending a similar partnership with DISH Network’s rival DirecTV, and it is now thought likely that the telco will opt to work with a single satellite TV partner from February next year. AT&T offers satellite TV services in bundles with its phone and internet services in areas where it does not offer video services over its own fibre networks.
