T-Mobile USA has announced that it has launched the T-Mobile brand in all former SunCom Wireless markets throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. According to T-Mobile’s press release, former SunCom customers can now access T-Mobile’s nationwide US mobile network and customer services, with improved regional coverage and advanced communications products and services, whilst all former SunCom retail outlets have been re-launched as T-Mobile stores. The German-owned mobile giant completed the acquisition of SunCom for around USD2.4 billion in cash and debt in February 2008. Since the acquisition, T-Mobile has invested more than USD100 million in strengthening the network in the Carolinas and Puerto Rico, to give customers a stronger signal in a wider area. T-Mobile’s network now serves 99 of the top 100 US markets nationally.
