China Mobile is willing to seek investment opportunities in the Mekong River region, reports Sohu quoting company chairman and CEO Wang Jianzhou at ITU Telecom Asia 2008. Wang also said that Pakistani operator CMPak Ltd, formerly Paktel Ltd., has increased local base stations from 800 to 3,500 since being acquired by China Mobile in 2007. ITU Telecom Asia 2008 is being held from September 2 to 5 in Bangkok.

China Mobile wireless music platform 12530.com had recorded 10 million downloads of 2008 Olympic opening ceremony theme song "You and Me" by September 2, reports xinhuanet.com. The song reached 5.73 million downloads in a 26-hour period between August 8 and August 9.
