China Unicom Raises 08 Wireless Operations Capex to CNY35 Billion Vs CNY19 Billion
China Unicom has raised its 2008 capital expenditure target for wireless operations to CNY35 billion from CNY19 billion, the company said Monday.
China Unicom said the increased spending will allow it to expand its Global System for Mobile Communications, or GSM, mobile network following the recent telecommunications sector restructuring.
As part of the reorganization, China Unicom is merging with fixed-line carrier China Netcom Group Corp. (Hong Kong) Ltd.
