Telstra submits network details for NBN

Updated:2008/8/25 11:39

Australia’s National Broadband Network (NBN) came another step closer to realisation after incumbent fixed line operator Telstra submitted its network details to the Australian government, Australian IT reports. The government has confirmed that the submission from the telco meets its information provision requirement, allowing potential bidders to access details that will enable them to formulate bids for the AUD4.7 billion (USD4.1 billion) contract; Telstra has been criticised in the past for not providing enough detailed information about its infrastructure. Rival Optus is also understood to have submitted network details, although there has been no confirmation that the submission has met government requirements.
