Local paper Milano Finanza reports that Telecom Italia has approached the European Investment Bank (EIB) for EUR550 million (USD811 million) to enable it to raise funds, at concessionary rates, for a EUR2.1 billion project to extend its broadband coverage and improve service quality on its existing networks.
