PCCW has reported a double-digit revenue growth for the first half of 2008, a company statement said.

Core revenues increased by 13% to HK$10 billion ($1.2 billion), while consolidated revenue decreased by 2% to HK$11 billion ($1.4 billion), reflecting lower recognition of property development revenue, the company said.

Core EBITDA increased by 10% to HK$3 billion ($384 million), while its mobile business achieved a positive EBITDA of HK$108 million ($13.8 million)

Profit attributable to equity holders of the company amounted to HK$656 million ($84 million), the firm said.

The carrrier also reported that its now TV has become the largest local pay-TV operator with installed base up 13% to 927,000.
