Chunghwa Telecom's board members will approve the appointment of its new chairman at an extraordinary meeting Wednesday, a company official said Tuesday.
The official, who asked not to be named, declined to say who will be the successor of 35.65%-government-owned Chunghwa Telecom's incumbent chairman Ho Chen Tan.
A Cabinet official, who also asked not to be named, said the Cabinet has approved the promotion of Chunghwa Telecom President Lu Shyue-Ching as the company's chairman.
The Cabinet official added the Cabinet has also approved Shaio-Tung Chang, a senior vice president of Chunghwa Telecom, as Lu's successor.
