China Unicom Ltd said subscribers for its global system for mobile (GSM) services rose to 128.55 mln at the end of July from 127.60 mln at end-June.
The company said billed GSM users rose by 3.69 mln in the first seven months to 66.16 mln, while prepaid users were up by 4.30 mln at 62.39 mln.
Subscribers for its code division multiple access (CDMA) service totaled 42.76 mln at the end of July, against 43.17 mln at the end of June, the company said.
Billed CDMA subscribers rose by 1.17 mln in the first seven months to 39.79 mln, while prepaid users were down 340,000 at 2.97 mln.
The China Unicom group, the country's second-largest wireless carrier after China Mobile, has a listed arm in Shanghai, China United Telecommunications Corp Ltd (SHA 600050).
