DoCoMo to stop selling 2G mova services

Updated:2008/8/8 14:33

Tags:NTT | CDMA | FOMA | 3G

NTT DoCoMo today announced it will stop taking orders for its 2G mobile service mova from 30 November 2008. As an incentive to switch to its W-CDMA network FOMA, the cellco is also waiving the usual JPY2,100 (USD19.30) transfer fee, from 8 August. DoCoMo is reacting to a growing trend for users to migrate to 3G and says the timing of the actual termination of mova will depend on market forces – such as how quickly mova users continue to switch.
