ValCom, Inc. announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire SatCom Scientific Inc. (SSI), a company manufacturing mobile satellite trucks for government agencies and broadcasters worldwide. The stock/cash acquisition is scheduled to close on or before September 30, 2008 and will increase ValCom's revenue by 7.5 million dollars. "SatCom Scientific not only brings us a contract with this near-term revenue, but also increases ValCom's international broadcast presence," said Vince Vellardita, ValCom President & CEO. "SSI's international business combined with their backlog of orders will contribute to both immediate and longer-term revenues, and enhance shareholder equity." SSI has been a pioneer in the commercial satellite marketplace since 1983, initially uplinking programming using its own fleet of vehicles for a wide array of broadcasters such as Showtime, The Movie Channel, Disney, and Nickelodeon and for events such as the Olympics, Super Bowl, World Cup Soccer, the previous Pope's visit to Mexico, and all the space shuttle launches throughout the last decade. Over the last 25 years, SatCom Scientific has built a strong clientele list: Disney, FEMA, General Dynamics, Universal Studios, Home Shopping Network, QVC, Country Music Television, Christian Television Network, NASA National Astronomy Observatory, Starlink Communications, China Netcom, China Telecom, etc. "It will be a pleasure to work with such a dynamic broadcaster as Buddy Winsett," said A. J. Miceli, President of SSI. "With the support of Vince Vellardita and the talented team at ValCom, our growth potential will be enhanced significantly." SatCom Scientific (SSI) today is best known for its production of mobile units. It is one of the few companies in the United States engaged in the design, fabrication and integration of mobile satellite trucks for government agencies and broadcasters worldwide. With a backlog of satellite trucks orders, the company has found a product in demand in a niche market. Customized satellite trucks and specialized communications platforms have been delivered to clients as near as Walt Disney World in Florida to such far-flung locations as China, Oman, and the Ivory Coast as well as throughout the continental United States and the Americas. www.satcomscientific.com Based in Clearwater, FL., ValCom, Inc. is a diversified, fully integrated, Independent Entertainment Company that has been in operation since 1983.
