Belgacom, Belgium's dominant telecom operator, reported first-half sales on Friday slightly above market expectations as regulators continue their clampdown on mobile call prices but cut its 2008 sales forecast.
Belgacom, the country's former monopoly, said sales fell 2.5 percent to 2.96 billion euros ($4.64 billion). An average forecast of 2.95 billion euros was given in a poll of six analysts.
Belgacom's mobile phone division Proximus is the market leader in Belgium.
