Dutch telecoms group KPN reported flat second-quarter core earnings on Wednesday even as revenue rose 22 percent driven by the acquisition of lower-margin IT services company Getronics.
The former Dutch telecoms monopoly said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) slipped to 1.267 billion euros ($2 billion) from 1.275 billion a year ago, in line with an average forecast of 1.27 billion euros in a Reuters poll of 13 analysts.
Adjusted for one-off items, EBITDA was up 3.9 percent, the telecoms carrier said.
KPN raised its guidance for its Dutch home market, saying it now expected EBITDA for the Netherlands to be at least 3.31 billion euros in 2008, flat compared with 2007.
