China Unicom Ltd said subscribers for its global system for mobile (GSM) services rose to 127.60 mln at the end of June from 126.53 mln at end-May.
The company said billed GSM users rose by 3.23 mln in the first six months of the year to 65.70 mln, while prepaid users were up by 3.805 mln at 61.90 mln.
Subscribers for its code division multiple access (CDMA) service totaled 43.17 mln at the end of June, against 43.15 mln at the end of May, the company said.
Billed CDMA subscribers rose by 1.32 mln in the first six months to 39.94 mln, while prepaid users were down 75,000 at 3.22 mln.
The China Unicom group, the country's second-largest wireless carrier after China Mobile, has a listed arm in Shanghai, China United Telecommunications Corp Ltd (SHA 600050).
