NTT DoCoMo is looking at overseas joint ventures and acquisitions, particularly in Asia, as Japan’s biggest mobile phone operator tries to reduce dependence on its domestic market.
“We’re watching proactively,” Ryuji Yamada, DoCoMo’s chief executive, told the Financial Times. “We want to be able to move swiftly when the timing is good. What we always say is to prioritise Asia-Pacific followed by the Middle East and then Africa.
