South African mobile phone operator MTN Group said on Wednesday it has entered into an agreement to buy 100 percent of the South African unit of US-based Verizon Communications for an undisclosed amount.
Verizon Business South Africa provides full connectivity services to corporate customers in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Kenya.
"The transaction is in line with MTN's stated strategy to provide integrated communications solutions in all of its markets," MTN said in a statement.
