Tech Mahindraannounced a multi-million dollar deal with Botswana Telecommunications to provide system integration services across its mobile, internet and fixed-line businesses, a Reuters report said.
The telecoms software firm sees revenues of up to $10 million over the next 3-5 years from the deal, Rajesh Chandiramani, general manager, sales & marketing, Tech Mahindra, told Reuters.
In the first year of the deal, it expects $2 million, he added.
"It is a good deal for us and Africa is emerging as an important destination for telecom operators," Chandiramani said.
Tech Mahindra currently gets about 74% of its revenues from Europe.
BTC is wholly-owned by the Botswana government and operates the country's national and international telecommunications services.
Tech Mahindra is majority owned by Indian automobiles company Mahindra & Mahindra in partnership with the U.K.'s BT Group.
