China Netcom strengthens network security with Nokia Siemens Networks

China Netcom, a fixed-line telecommunications service provider in China, has strengthened its network security with Nokia Siemens networks.
The Chinese telecom major has contracted Nokia Siemens Networks to guarantee information security for its data communication network (DCN) covering 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions of China. Nokia Siemens Networks has extensive experience in addressing network security issues, does strong security research and participates in security standardization boards and the company has worked closely with China Netcom to understand their network, analyze the risks and enable stable and secure services. Nokia Siemens Networks has built a complete information security management system for China Netcom covering assessment, consulting, design, systems integration and project management, this comprehensive portfolio of solutions is expected to reduce potential losses caused by information security risks, support the stable development of China Netcom¨s services and will thus reduce operational expenditures (OPEX), according to the company.
