China Mobile details energy saving initiative

Joining in the crusade for energy saving, China Mobile has launched its "Green Initiative," for outsourcing of system equipment and complementary equipment while saving energy and reducing emissions, according to a report from ChinaTechNews.com.

Fifteen manufacturers have signed a strategic partnership with China Mobile its initiative including, Alcatel, Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens, AIR-SYS Refrigeration Engineering Technology Company, Emerson Network Power, Harbin Coslight Group, Jiangsu Shuangdeng Group, Comba, Mobi Antenna Technologies Co., China GrenTech, Wuhan Hongxin Telecommunication Technologies Co., Zhongli Technology, Zhongtian Technology Co. and Delta-CIMIC Electronics Co.

China Mobile president Wang Jianzhou, who presided over a meeting has motioned for resource utility to be improved in the field of mobile communications to ensure that the project on energy-saving and emissions control to be fully implemented.

The company also called for network system equipment and complementary equipment manufacturers to reduce the quantity of materials used for equipment, lessen the weight of each piece of equipment, increase equipment''s integration capacity and lower equipment''s power costs.
