MIIT recently announced the service condition of telecommunication services in October. The call volumes of fixed-line telephone and mobile phone kept steady decline, SMS business volume and revenue were still decreasing yet with a narrowed reduction compared with last October; mobile Internet data traffic continued to rise and the average mobile Internet data traffic consumed per subscriber reached 2.25G in October.
From January to October, national mobile phone call completed 2.24 trillion minutes, down by 4.5% YoY; fixed-line telephone call completed 128.3 billion minutes, with a decline of 18.6% YoY.
Meanwhile, SMS volume completed 554 billion, which reduced by 1.3% YoY and the decline narrowed by 4.9% compared with the same period of last year, MMS volume fell by 12.3% to 40.8 billion. The SMS revenue reached CNY 29.6 billion with a YoY decline of 4.2%, which narrowed by 5.4% compared with the same period of last year.
In contrast, average mobile Internet data traffic consumed per subscriber reached 2.25G in October, representing a year-on-year increase of 147.8%.
