China Mobile has sold more than 1.5 million 4G smartphones of its own brand "A3" with activations of over 10,000 units per single day since their coming out five months ago, Ma Jingxin, deputy general manager of China Mobile Terminal Company said at Spreadtrum Global Partner Conference 2017 on August 15.

A3 mobile phone was released in March this year, starting at CNY599.

Different from other smartphones priced at the same level, A3 phones, containing chip manufactured by Spreadtrum and running Yun Operating System with Huaqin as the ODM, is completely "local".

The total orders of A3 mobile phones have exceeded 2.5 million, recognized widely by the company.

Though focusing on the midrange and lower tiers, A3 mobile phone keeps the failure rate at 0.86 percent, much lower than the average of the industry.

Looking beyond the border, China Mobile has been selling its house brand mobile phones represented by A3 in eight areas including Thailand, Malaysia and France.
