China Mobile Net Profit up 3.5% to CNY62.7 bn in 1H17

China Mobile released the 2017 midterm performance on August 10.

The company achieved operation revenue of CNY388.9 billion, a 5 percent increase from last year, and generated the EBITDA of CNY140.7 billion with a 4.7 percent year-on-year growth.

The profit attributable to shareholders of China Mobile was up 3.5 percent to CNY62.7 billion.

China Mobile noted it has kept growing stably in the first half of the year.

The communication service revenue jumped 6.9 percent to CNY348 billion, higher than the average industry level.

Its wireless data traffic revenue of CNY187.7 billion accounted for over 50 percent of the communication service revenue.

A net increase of 17.61 million happened to the company's mobile phone subscriber, hitting 867 million while its fixed broadband subscriber reach 93.04 million with 15.42 million additions.

Also, the Chinese telecom giant is going to give a dividend of 1.623 Hong Kong dollars a midterm share and a 20 year-listing anniversary special dividend of 3.2 Hong Kong dollars a share.

In addition, its 4G base stations extended to 1.65 million, making its TD-LTE network world's largest, most advanced with leading coverage and network quality.

An addition of 58.62 million happened to its 4G user base, of which the total hit 594 million, achieving penetration of 69 percent.
