China Mobile Internet of Things Connections over 100 Million

China Mobile has been actively developing Internet of Things, an important part of the "Large Connection" strategy, and looks forward to working closely with other parties in the field of IoT and achieving mutual benefit and win-win, Xie Zhiyuan, general manager of General Department of China Mobile IoT Company said on June 27.

With the mobile user scale growing larger than the global population, Internet of Things has become the new fulcrum of growth that the operators and the whole ICT market depend on. It is estimated that IoT market will be worth $830 billion and IoT connection devices will reach 50 billion by 2020, among which the devices based on cellular network will hit 270 million by then. China Mobile aims to achieve 5 billion connections and IoT revenue of $100 billion by 2020.

OneNET, the IoT open platform self-developed by China Mobile IoT Company has 30,000 registered developers, over 7 million access terminals and has developed 12,000 IoT applications.
