Media recently reports that China Broadcasting Network Ltd. (CBN) refused China Mobile the IPTV transmission service license application.
CBN considered that there's a big compliance difference between China Mobile's TV services around with tens of millions of users, which have been developed before the company's IPTV permission service application, and the broadcast control mechanism of IPTV, so CBN denied the license application.
China Mobile, according to its financial results, has added 22.59 million fixed broadband subscribers which totaled 77.62 million in 2016. Its broadband users with bandwidth of over 20M accounted for 76.9 percent of the total last year while the company's TV services got more than 22.8 million subscribers till then.
