Chairman and CEO of China Telecom Yang Jie said at the annual shareholder conference of the company on May 23 that he would be very glad to see the mixed ownership reform for China's other telecom operators, like China Unicom, approved by MIIT, and believed that China Unicom's success will have a direct change in and a positive impact on the telecom industry.
Mr. Yang also noted China Telecom hasn't received any notice of mixed ownership reform from the Chinese government. However, he said, the company has all along conducted the internal reform, which is very important, and will intensify in the future.
