China Unicom Not to Reduce Fixed Broadband Price

Updated:2017/5/10 15:20

China Unicom held the annual shareholder meeting on May 9.

Wang Xiaochu, chairman of China Unicom, noted that the company had worked out concrete measures to deal with the impact in charges and other aspects, in response to the competition with China Mobile in terms of fixed broadband services.

Since China Unicom doesn't tend to adjust the price initiatively, microscopically, it will strengthen the service and content. In addition, the company plans to accelerate the integration between mobile users and broadband users.

From a macro point of view, China Unicom achieved service revenue of CNY160 billion last year, including broadband service revenue of over CNY40 billion, and it will be happy to see this number in mobile services if that happens. China Unicom is, by pure statistics, exceeded by China Mobile in the business of fixed network. "But in fact, we have monthly growth in mobile services, and they takes off," Mr. Wand said.
