China Telecom released the 1Q17 financial results on April 27.
It reported quarterly operating revenue of CNY91.428 billion with a 5.8 percent YoY net growth, that service revenue increased 7.5 percent year over year to CNY82.094 billion, and EBITDA climbed 4.2 percent to CNY24.815 billion; profit attributable to shareholders was up 4.5 percent to CNY5.348 billion.
China Telecom took its mobile user base to 222 million with a net increase of 6.53 million, including 138 million 4G users with 15.77 million additions. The total mobile traffic maintained a rapid growth of 115 percent, and the average of 4G data traffic consumed per subscriber per month reached 1,271MB with a stable uplift in ARPU.
A net increase of 2.7 million happened to its fixed broadband subscribers, of which the total hit 126 million. Among them, 112 million were FTTH subscribers with 6.07 million net additions.
