On December 12, MIIT issued CDN service license to ChinaNetCenter and Alibaba Cloud Computing.
A CDN license involves qualification for access resource management system, information security management system and ICP/IP address domain information records management system.
MIIT will announce related technology standards and supporting regulatory measures concerning CDN services and encourage strong, innovative enterprises to enter the market.
Having been into the CDN market for some time, the new players mostly lower the bar to entry and monopolies are still there, in China's CDN market.
