Mo Wei,director of the general office of MIIT said on Monday that the new generation of ICT represented by the mobile Internet and big data has a deep and farsighted impact on the development of economic society, and the Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of ICT and commits to connect the world.
The development of high-speed mobile broadband communication network, especially the rapid growth of 4G, has become the most important support platform for all works in the economic society. The mobile communication industry tends to be technology-driven, demand-driven and interacting with others, and the new pattern is forming rapidly.
Statistics shows that by the end of July 2015, 419 LTE networks have been launched in 142 countries and areas; 677 LTE networks are in the investment and deployment in 181 countries and areas; 63 TD-LTE networks have been launched in 37 countries and areas; 140 TD-LTE networks are in the investment and deployment in 59 countries and areas. There have been over 790 million LTE subscribers and over 278 million TD-LTE subscribers by July 2015 all over the world.
At the 5th Seminar of TD-LTE Technology and Spectrum held in Budapest, Hungary, Mo Wei shared Chinese government’s strategy and practice on promoting the innovation of ICT and made 4 suggestions for the global cooperation in the mobile broadband area.
First, accelerate the promotion of the frequency-unified plan. Reach a consensus on the frequency plan globally and form the unified planning program to promote the subsequent development of the global roaming and the industrial chain.
Second, accelerate the promotion of the technical development and the evolution of LTE. Strongly support the construction of TD-LTE, LTE FDD and other 4G networks and innovation of technology, production and service, promoting the development of the 4G future evolution technology.
Third, jointly advance the construction of the high-speed mobile broadband network of “One Belt One Road”. Hope that all the countries strengthen the cooperation and communication, and especially the regulatory agencies, operating enterprises and related international organizations of the countries and areas along the “One Belt One Road” should carry out cooperation and communication closely and promote the high-speed mobile broadband network infrastructure construction along “One Belt One Road”.
Forth, the world should strengthen the cooperation on 5G. The large-scale antenna technology, super-density networking technology, high-frequency band communication technology and other technologies will be the main parts of 5G technologies. Hope all the countries can strengthen the cooperation, promote the researches of 5G technologies and standards and accelerate forming of the global unified 5G standard.
