Broadband access market was officially open to private capitals

China's broadband access market was officially open to private capitals since March 1st.

We have learnt from the MIIT that domestic private capitals can enter broadband access market in multi modes since March 1st, and the first pilot batch includes 16 cities. That is to say, in addition to the traditional three major telecom operators, users can also subscribe for the broadband services through private channels.

The MIIT said in a notice that the "broadband access services pilot management information system" was built for the convenience of submitting application for the broadband access services, the system was available from 9 o'clock of March 1st, 2015, enterprises with intention to participate in the pilot trials can login in the system to submit applications. Earlier in the end of 2014, MIIT issued the "scheme for open broadband access service pilots”, which said the first batch includes 16 cities and the pilot time will last three years.
