The National Industry and Information Meeting was held on 22nd December. The Minister of MIIT Miao Wei emphasized at the meeting that the TD-LTE network construction and 4G business development would be accelerated and promoted in 2015, the number of 4G subscribers should be strived to break through 250 million and LTE FDD licenses would be considers for issuance when conditions were mature.
In the working meeting, Miao Wei summarized relevant work in telecommunications, information consumption and other aspects in 2014:
It is expected that the information consumption scale will reach CNY 2.8 trillion in 2014, with a year-on-year growth rate of 25%; the E-commerce transaction volume will exceed 12 trillion, with a year-on-year growth rate of 20%; and the growth rates in telecommunication, software and information technology services and Internet industries will be 4%, 20% and 50%, respectively.
It is also expected that newly increased FTTH coverage households will reach 70 million in 2014, 4G subscribers will break through 90 million, and the IPTV subscribers will reach 33.4 million, the ratio of 8M and above 8M broadband subscribers will be 38.9% and the income of non-voice business will account for 57.9% of the total income in basic telecom enterprises.
