According to BNamericas, the Bolivian telecoms watchdog Superintendencia de Telecomunicaciones (Sittel) is searching for structural solutions to the levels of congestion on the mobile telephone networks in the country. Sittel head Jorge Nava will reportedly meet with municipal councils in El Alto and the capital La Paz, two areas where mobile congestion is particularly high; it is believed the talks will focus on coordinating actions to speed up installation of additional base stations by operators. Operators have previously complained about the bureaucratic processes involved with approvals for new network infrastructure.
