5G Spectrums Can Be Allocated Through Bidding & Auction in China

Updated:2016/12/2 18:05

Revised on November 11, the Radio Regulations of the People's Republic of China goes into effect on December 1, 2016.

Today 4G services have been launched in big scale and the era of 5G will begin in 2020, in which radio communication needs more spectrums, and thus how to allocate the spectrums reasonably will be really important.

According to the Radio Regulations, radio frequency resources can be allocated through administrative approvals and market approaches, which include bidding and auction while China relied on administrative approval more before.

The international standards of 5G haven't been determined, and we don't know when China will issue 5G service license. Bidding and auction are options for 5G spectrum allocation in China.
