By the end of May 2016, China's fixed broadband access subscribers have reached 274 million and penetration rate of household fixed broadband has increased to 55%; fiber access subscribers have hit 180, accounting for 66% while mobile subscribers are close to 1.3 billion. The mobile broadband (3G/4G) subscriber base has been taken to 820 million with the penetration rate reaching 62.6%. There have been 2.1 million 4G base stations and 580 million 4G subscribers, catching 44.7% of the total mobile subscribers in China.
