On 19 Oct, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province and China Unicom signed the “Framework Agreement of Promoting the ‘Internet+’Strategic Cooperation“ in Guangzhou. It’s another important progress after fully implementing the strategic cooperation agreement of promoting the “Smart Guangdong” construction signed in 2012. It also means China Unicom has become the first major telecom operator which signs the “Internet+” cooperation agreement with Guangdong Provincial Government.
According to the agreement, the “Internet+” cooperation between China Unicom and Guangdong Provincial Government will be about implementing “’Internet+’ Action Plan of Guangdong Province (2015-2020) ”and they will cooperate on six main areas: first, actively promote the information infrastructure construction; second, push the “Internet+ industry development” hard; third, strongly develop the “Internet+ business circulation”; fourth, start the “Internet+ service which benefits people”; fifth, participate actively in the “Internet+ government service”; sixth, promoting the implementation of the “Internet+ pioneering and innovation” .
China Unicom has made the position clear of five respects during the process of the “Internet+”development: First, be the key capability provider of “Internet+” and provide the most advanced basic capacity; second, be the promoter of “Internet+” hot spots and attach the “Internet+” capacity to the public service and the entity economy; third, be the “Internet+” business transformation forerunner and first practice the business transformation over the Internet; forth, be the innovative manager of the newly arisen “Internet+” industry and realize new breakthrough of cross-border business; fifth, be the innovative leader of “People entrepreneurship and innovation ” and provide the professional service of total process.
China Unicom has completed the construction of excellent 4G network in Guangdong Province now, with the coverage in urban areas, counties, towns and incorporated villages, and takes the lead in realizing 4G+ coverage with the high speed of 300Mbps. China Unicom also tracks and tests triple-CA 4G+ network in Guangdong Province and adopts different ways of networking in hot business districts with the network speed reaching 370Mbps and 410Mbps respectively. China Unicom will build 4G+ city groups and bring subscribers more colorful mobile connected life. Meanwhile China Unicom totally opens the core capability of four industry internet--“BIMC” (Big data, IoT, Mobile Internet and Cloud computing) , provides convenient information infrastructure of high speed and real time for the Internet industry, traditional industries and enterprise integration and lays the foundation of key capability for the rapid “Internet+” development.
