Recently, MIIT issued the economic operation data of telecom industry of February 2015. As the data showed, the total number of mobile phone subscribers reached 1.29 billion in China. Net increase of mobile phone subscribers was only 3.374 million in January and February, which was less than 1/3 of that of last year, and the bottleneck in the growth of mobile phone users became more obvious. At the same time, 4G continues to maintain a high growth speed with more than 20 million subscribers in net increase, and 4G penetration in mobile phone users exceeded 10%.
Mobile broadband (3G/4G) users increased largely and the net increase reached 41.017 million in January and February, which was 40% more than the same period of last year, reaching a total of 624 million, the proportion reached up to 48.4% in the mobile phone users and was 3.1% higher than the end of last year.
In addition, the report showed that the scale of mobile Internet users set a new record in January and February. The net increase of mobile Internet users reached 8.175 million with a year-on-year growth rate of 5.3%, reaching 883 million in total. With steady promotion of the "tri-networks integration", IPTV users increased 915,000 in this period, reaching 35.616 million in total.
