In the annual meeting of China Telecom device industry chain 2015, the general manager of China Telecom Yang Jie said, subscribers of China Telecom mobile business have reached 186 million by December 2014, of which 119 million are 3G subscribers. Last year, China Telecom sold about 85 million devices in all kinds, taking a share of 21.3% in the whole mobile phone market in China. The number of on sale mobile phones reached about 1,150 models for China Telecom in 2014, of which 4G models reached about 100.
"China Telecom has conducted 4G hybrid networking in 56 cities in 2014, and we sold over 10 million 4G devices." Yang Jie said. When talking about the expectation of 2015, Yang Jie described China Telecom’s goal with three numbers. "In 2015, China Telecom hopes that we can increase 120 million new mobile subscribers, of which 100 million are 4G customers, and the sale of China Telecom E-surfing devices could breakthrough 100 million."
Not long ago, China Telecom held the Device Cooperation Strategy Conference and announced the "outstanding 100" plan, which will heavily invest CNY 16 billion in 2015 to create 100 high-quality 4G mobile phones by the market-oriented "horse racing" mechanism and capital traction, so as to lead the innovation development of mobile phone industry and stimulate the mobile phone sales breakthrough 100 million.
