MIIT issued the ICT Industry Development Plan During 2016-2020 on January 17.
According to the Development Plan, China's internationally competitive IoT industry system will have been formed basically by 2020 with China's IoT industry reaching CNY1.5 trillion, which includes perceptual manufacturing, network transmission and intelligent information services while M2M connections in China's public network will be over 1.7 billion. The IoT technology R&D level and innovation capacity will also be significantly improved and the new standard system for IoT industry will be initially formed by 2020.
