China Telecom Has Constructed IoT eSIM Platform, Try to Launch eSIM in 2017

China Telecom released Research Report on Satisfying Degree of esurfing Terminal and Terminal Quality Report during Esurfing Terminal Expo 2016 held last week.

Shen Shaoai, deputy general manager of Technology Department of China Telecom, described mobile network and terminal technical validation and pre-commercial plan of the company in detail. China Telecom has brought lots of energy to the IoT market and taken IoT as group-level strategic basic business for 2016.

As the early mover in China's IoT market, China Telecom has completed laboratory & field tests of Cat1 and NB-IoT as well as laboratory tests of CatM. In 2017, it will promote the commercial rollout of Cat1, conduct live testing of CatM and push the commercial process of NB-IoT standards. 800MHz band is preferred for scale commercialization of NB-IoT.

China Telecom has established IoT eSIM platform. It will test the platform & compatibility between the terminal and the card in 2017, striving to launch eSIM.
